Till date, I have tried Maybelline Clear Glow BB Stick , Garnier BB Cream , L’oreal BB Cream, Ponds BB Cream and none has proved provided even average oil control on my super oily skin! Although I loved using Garnier BB Cream in winters since my skin turns dry then and it provides a sheer coverage but gives a fresh glow on my face for long.
I seriously don’t know what made me jump into buying one more BB cream (I must have dropped my brains somewhere that day..hmmm!) and so, I’m presenting you the newly launched Colorbar BB Cream in shade “002,Honey”.
– Colorbar BB Cream comes in an easy tube packaging.
– The texture is very light. It feels water based and blends easily into skin with just a few pats.
– It provides a sheer coverage but succeeds in giving quite a presentable look for my blemished face.
– Also, when I blotted my face in between, it transferred a little to my blotting sheets!
– On my super oily skin, the staying power is quite low in regard of oil control but better than all the other BB Creams I have tried. This will work quite well for oily/combination skinned people.
– Also, since the coverage is so sheer, I felt it had almost evaporated when I saw my face wearing this after some 6 hours.
– The SPF is very low, SPF 20.
– It provides no glow.
– People with a lot of uneven skin tone/blemishes might want to skip this because of the sheer coverage.
– People with a lot of uneven skin tone/blemishes might want to skip this because of the sheer coverage.
Now, the bummer is the shade selection again! The Colorbar SA matched me to this shade saying that it’ll adapt into my skin shade after a few minutes. I told her to swatch all the three shades. The 003 shade was too dark and the 001 wasn’t available at that time. But the SA convinced me into buying this saying 001 shade is very pink and this shade will transform into my skin shade. I believed her because there actually are some BB Creams that are meant to adapt to one’s skin shade.
But this shade remained the same even after hours. It’s too yellow for my skin. See the swatch.
I don’t recommend this BB Cream to anyone. It may work for oily/combination skinned people (Underneath moisturizer/topped with compact) but not in hot/humid environment. And, for the price tag, there are much better options. If you are still keen on trying this, go ahead, wear it for some hours and see if it wears well, along with the shade problem.
I’ll soon do a comparison post on all the BB Creams soon, after I’m done reviewing the last BB Cream! 😛
Price: Rs.550
Quantity: 29gm
packaging look nice heena but not good product with huge price tag !!!!!!
Sad, It didn't work for you 🙁
as you have oily skin, you might like to try Lakme CC cream , it's a good one 🙂
and no worries you are not alone, in collecting BB creams, these cute little things are so attractive that we can't help ourselves and stack them up!! :p
Looks great, need to try:)
Garnier made my skin the most oily out of all..
I felt Lakme cc was little better..but neither BB or CC has been perfect for super oily skin till date…
Blotting n blotting all my day..
Good review Heena..

haaww.. thast so bad Heena.. I can see the yellowish cast.. it is such a disappointment!! 🙁
I am gonna stay away .. These SA's cant be trusted!!
Thanks for saving my money Heena 🙂
For the price it's a dud!! Nice review Heena 🙂
Good review Heena.. Maybeline BB cream was disaster for me… Will try this one for sure 🙂
It looks like the perfect shade for my yellowish skin tone. 550 for a light coverage cream… i would rather stick to the other BB Creams as of now, unless I drop my brain like you too 😀
Love the packaging but too bad that it doesn't work, I have noticed that most of the BB creams are pretty useless.
I Didn't Try The Maybelline BB Cream.. I heard Quite Mixed Reviews About it
Hope It Works For You!:)
Thanks Gowthami!:)
My Duty!:)
I Know! 🙁
I Would Have Still Made It Work in Winters Atleast If I Was Matched To The Right Shade
My Fault Too.. I was In Rush, So Didn't Care to Wait n Check :-s
Glad! Will Check It Out!:)
Right!
Same Here! But I Love Using It For Winters!
Thanks Asmitha!
Next is Lakme CC in Review! 😛
Your Call 🙂
I've Lakme CC.. It's Fine For Oily Skin But Not For My Super Oily Skin.. Otherwise, it's a really good one.. Thanks Rajshree 🙂
Hehe 😛
Exactly!:)
Seriously Rakhshanda!
I Too Have Warm Undertones but This is Too Yellow..
Haha 😛
I am going to skip this one, Thanks for the review. Not able to reply to your comment in my post, think because of some setting, I have a son he is 2 years old 🙂
Would love to see your comparison post soon.
Thank God I didn't purchase this one… Love your honest reviews dear 🙂
Nice review heena..I m using rimmel london bb cream,
Quite happy with that..so better skip this one 🙂
Nice clicks Heena….
Garnier bb cream doesnt suit me 🙁 Mujhse hi dushmani hai use. Btw the shade seems perfect for my skin but i too have oily skin.
I read some where that they loved the Colorbar BB, but your review seems otherwise Heena. I have normal skin and am quite happy with the BBs I have. Will wait for your compilation post before investing in a new one.
sad It wasn't impressive! I am using Pond's which is really good for my combination skin and suits my complexion! I really wanted to try this one too.. Thank you dear, you saved me.:)
I Too Like Ponds BB Cream a Lot Although It's Not For My Super Oily Skin..
🙂
I Too Have Read Those Reviews..
I Haven't Quite Deducted Marks For Shade or Oil Ctrl Part
But For The Fact It Transfers a Lil n Evaporates After Some Time Is What Pissed Me So Much, Not To Forget The Price Tag!
I'll Try Doing The Compilation Post Soon, Anwesha!:)
Ohh! 🙁
I Loved Using It During Winters! Hehe 😛
Thanku So Much, Anamika!:)
Hope It Available Here Soon!
Thanku!:)
My Duty!:)
Oh! The Reason I Saw The Toy Care! 😛 😀
Hope To Do It Soon!:)
This is such a dud, though everything about it looked so great at first!
Try the Deborah bb cream. Much better for oily skin and has more shades too 🙂
Right! :-s
I Really Want To Try That Now!
Thanks For the Suggestion, Nandini!:)
Hey lovely review.. Was about to buy it.. But will it suit acne prone oily/combo skin?
