Colourpop lippie pencils India: Review, Swatches on Indian skin tone
I’m so happy that I decided to try out Colourpop lippie pencils because I definitely like them more than the lippie stix range.
My experience with Colourpop lippie pencils:
Packaging: The Colourpop lippie pencils are encased in a white cardboard packaging box which bears the necessary details. The actual pencils are also white in colour and are color coded at the end. Since these ones are sharpenable, some product wastage is bound to happen. The good news is that they sharpen easily. One thing to you need to be careful about is to close the cap tightly otherwise it can come off.
Texture: I read everywhere the texture of these lippie pencils is very creamy. It’s quite the opposite for me. They have just a moderate amount of creaminess to go smoothly on the lips without putting a lot of force. If my lips are in a bad condition, these tend to highlight even the little flakiness on them. I need to apply a lip balm at least 15 minutes before wearing them- not a big deal because they wear beautifully.
Finish: They set to a powdery matte finish. Also, I have to say that they look much better off camera. In the macro mode, every lip line looks very loud and that’s not really the case in person.
Pigmentation: Both the shades cover the natural color of my lips completely.
Staying power: Depending on what you eat and drink, these Colourpop lippie pencils can last anywhere between 4-6 hours. Since they’re quite resistant to water, the colour isn’t going to fade much unless you start eating. Yay!
Colourpop lippie pencil Brink swatch on Indian skin tone
I already reviewed Colourpop lippie stix in Brink sometime back. The shades are different. I LOVE this everyday shade and wear it as a lipstick. It’s giving a competition to NYX lip liner Peekaboo neutral which is my another all-time favourite. Rumors have it that MAC lip pencil Soar and Colourpop lippie pencil Brink look the same on lips. Ahem ahem!

Colourpop lippie pencil sharpener problem?
Thanks to the launch of Lakme enrich lip crayons, my yearly stock for sharpeners is sorted. Those ones work perfectly in sharpening these Colourpop lippie pencils. The material of these lippie pencils sharpeners smoothly without getting stuck in the sharpener. It’s always a good idea to not aim for a super fine tip as it can lead to breakage of the tip and result in more product wastage.
Summary:
Colourpop lippie pencils work well when layered under a lipstick and even when worn alone as lipsticks. The texture is not the best for those with dry lips and exfoliation goes a long way in how they look. I’m glad that these ones last for really long which makes taking the trouble (dryness+ prep time) worth it. Plus, I’m obsessed with wearing the Brink shade in summers. The only glitch is that these are in a sharpenable form and hence, there will be some product wastage.
