2017 has (finally) started with a bang for makeup lovers as Lakme has brought out the big guns by launching a blue mascara that doesn’t break bank!
*Happy dance*
Say hello to Lakme eyeconic curling mascara Blue! \:D/
Yep, there’s a finally a colored mascara in our Indian beauty market which retails for Rs 350. I remember having colored my lashes quite a few times with Maybelline hyper glossy blue liquid eyeliner very lightly to make the lower lashes stand out. I first used to apply a transparent mascara and then, follow up with the liner. It did make a difference although the struggle of maintenance is a different story. Moving on..
Product description
Coming from the eyeconic range is yet another product – the lakme eyeconic curling mascara. The lakme eyeconic curling mascara is a unique mascara that’s lets you play with dramatic eye looks, by giving you intensely curled lashes. But if that’s not enough, it now comes in the vibrant royal blue shade that lights up your eyes like never before. The smart curl brush allows smooth strokes for perfectly curled lashes. The lightweight mascara with d-panthenol keeps lashes smooth. The lakme eyeconic curling mascara is available in two intense shades – black and royal blue to add instant drama. You can use the lakme eyeconic curling mascara every day for enhanced lashes that complement any eye make-up look.
My Experience With Lakme Eyeconic curling Mascara Blue:
To start with, I have used only two colored mascaras till date, one that’s available at Sephora and the other was a gift from my friend.
Packaging: The lakme eyeconic mascara blue comes in a asymmetrical, glossy black tube packaging. The product name is mentioned on the tube in white and turquoise letters. All the necessary details are mentioned on the cardboard packaging it comes in. The shade name is mentioned at the bottom of the tube.
Shade: Royal blue! The color may look intimidating in pictures but it’s not that bright in person. I wish the pigmentation went deeper.
Formula: There’s no feeling of uneasiness after you’ve applied the mascara. It feels light and dries softly. No crunchy lashes! The consistency is more on the wet side but not to the extent of making your thin lashes weigh down. Do remove any excess mascara from the ends of the bristles to avoid caking.
Wand: As you can see, it’s a thin wand which is slightly curved. Since Lakme claims this as a curling mascara, the curved wand is apt to provide more curl.
To create some decent length and volume, wiggle the wand back and forth a few times.
Staying power: I have a very oily skin and also, sweaty if in motion for even a few minutes. No wonder, I’m prone to smears under my eyes. I bought Lakme eyeconic curling mascara Blue 3 days back and has been wearing it every day since then. After some 5-6 hours, I could see some flaking. But it did not smudge. I always powder my under-eye area well to avoid that. I pick some powder using a damp sponge and dab it lightly on that area before applying it.
How to remove it: I always follow this method on how to remove mascara effectively for a hassle-free removal process.
To keep the mascara from drying out, it’s best to pull out the mascara wand in one motion. So, please don’t pump the wand.
Summary:
Lakme eyeconic curling mascara Blue creates the illusion of brighter and bigger eyes instantly. Although it doesn’t curl to the extent of being a replacement for your eyelash curler, it definitely separates and lifts the lashes. It can be the perfect addition to your vanity case to break out of a makeup rut. I just wish it was a bit more pigmented for my black lashes and didn’t flake.

Thankoo Swathi! I’m loving it 😀
Ooh! I saw that mascara on your blog.. It’s quite a popping blue. I don’t go by the mark.. In fact, I find the formula a lot better for my thin lashes after 4-5 months have gone by..hehe 😛 But then I use mascaras and eye lash curler very less as I have quite weak eyelashes 🙁
Yea! A pleasant surprise by Lakme ^_^ Get this.. It’s such a good change from black mascara B-)

Oh my! :O
Luckily, such a nothing has happened with me ever with eyelash curler but an eyelash glue did that to me once.
At one point of time, I was addicted to both. But I can’t afford to have that same situation now given the condition of my lashes. I think they are the only ones in makeup category I use rarely.
