We all know that to achieve a glowing skin, it’s important to drink lots of water, eat clean and have a proper skin care routine. But these things can take a backseat sometimes, especially with the arrival of winters. I mean, who wouldn’t want to snuggle up in a blanket, sip on never-ending cups of hot coffee topped with chocolate powder and chocolate sprinkle and binge on their favourite TV shows! Plus, the daily routine of life can take a toll on our skin.
So, what exactly can we do if we want to sport a healthy glow in spite of all these things? Well, cheat a bit! Enter ‘Faces Ultimate Pro Metaliglow’. I own 2 illuminators apart from this which I use only in the cold weather when my skin looks dull. In summers, my super oily skin does an amazing job of making my skin look radiant dull.
Product description:
FACES METALIGLOW is a collection of gel based illuminator that glides easily, brightens the complexion and adds instant luminosity. Ultrafine light-reflecting pearls melts into the skin for a polished, natural-looking radiance. It has high percentage of thin pearls to deliver a precious, homogeneous glow. Its aqua based formula leaves a cooling effect on your face. It is dermatologically tested and paraben free.
My Experience With Faces Ultimate Pro Metaliglow:
The reason why I got so excited about this Faces illuminator was because it’s gel based. The chances of looking like a disco-ball with it are almost negligible.
Packaging: It comes in a plastic pump-packaging bottle and can be easily carried around. I remember I literally had to press the pump more than 80 times (not kidding! Yes, I was counting.) the first time. I was exhausted and crying for food. The torture ended there. Now, it works well and dispenses product in the first pump only.
Texture: I love, love and love the texture! Since it’s gel based, it doesn’t feel heavy at all. Thanks to its aqua-based formula, it feels extremely light. Since there’s no wet or greasy thing associated with it, it blends easily. But it sets pretty fast which means you need to increasing your working speed. Once set, it doesn’t move.
What I would suggest you is that first, take a little quantity at the back of your hands, and then, blend it there only. This will give you an idea on how to work on your face.
Finish: It literally gives your skin a lit-from-within glow. Since the particles in it are extremely finely milled and aren’t glitter based to reflect light off the skin, you get a soft glow. This is coming from someone whose skin has a lot of imperfections.
Does it emphasizes the pore size? it does but in a very teeny-weeny way.
I also used it on my mom and it did a brilliant job in making her skin look bright. The previous illuminators used to exaggerate her problem areas. So, this one seems perfect even for mature skin.
Staying power: I find it to be very long-lasting. The effect is noticeable even after 7-8 hours.
Shade: This comes in three shades. I remember standing at their store and having a hard time choosing between Topaz and Champagne. I finally chose the Champagne gold color. The shade looks super nice on fair-medium complexion. But when I tried it on someone with a dark complexion, it looked kinda chalky. So, it will be a good idea to try the shades in the store first.
How I use it:
When I use it with moisturizer,
I mix less than one pump of the quantity with my moisturizer and blend it. I always mist a facial spray before I do this just to make sure it blends completely. Then, I pat some translucent powder over it. No blotchy application. Tada! This perks up my complexion!
Please see: I use this only in the dreary months of winters when my oily skin starts looking dull.
When I use it with foundation,
I apply foundation all over my face and give it a good 5-7 minutes to dry. Then, I pour one pump of it on the back of my hand and mix it with some foundation. I mix both of them and pat the result on my cheekbones (away from the area where I have enlarged pores). I usually use a sponge for this. Then, I set my face with a translucent powder.
If you’re wondering why don’t I straight away mix both of them and apply on my face, this is why I don’t do it: When my oily skin starts producing oil, the emollient texture of both (be it how much light-weight) can slide off my skin. Since I give them something matte in texture to adhere to, they stick well.
In one of my recent posts, I also showed how to use highlighter as a blush. It can also be just on the cheekbones, browbones and on cupid’s bow.
Summary:
In short, Faces ultimate pro metaliglow is your answer to owing a luminescent foundation that gives you a gorgeous glow minus the greasy part and without you having to spend a lot of time. I love it and have also made my friends and family fall in love with it. It serves both as a highlighter and illuminator.
But if you’re after one that pops on your skin, skip it.
I never looked forward to applying illuminators so much. But now I do, at least in winters- all thanks to this one! It’s definitely the one of the best and affordable liquid highlighters/illuminators in India.

I’ll share on one soon on Instagram.
I have a super oily skin and as I wrote above, I apply it on my entire face mixed with moisturizer only on days when it looks very dull. However, I keep it away from my inner cheeks where the pore size is much more prominent.
The chances of looking like a disco ball with this subtle illuminator are really tiny.
Agree! I’m going to explore more of their stuff 😀
