If you’re after a blush that’s bright yet subtle, try Colorbar Pink Sugar all day lip and cheek color blush stick.
A blush is one beauty product which has the power to make your skin lit-from-within and also, make you look younger. Sadly, it’s also one makeup category which I buy a lot but hardly cover on blog.
*makes a mental note to herself to review all the blushes she has*

My experience with Colorbar Pink Sugar all day lip and cheek color blush stick:
It comes in a big crayon form with a twist-up mechanism which works perfectly. The crayon has a dome shaped head which makes swiping color on cheeks easy. Since the blush stick is matched with its shade, it’s easier to locate when you have more than one. Needless to say, the packaging is travel-friendly. You can toss them in your purse without worrying about breakage.
The texture is creamy which later translates into a soft powder finish. You may notice tiny shimmery flecks but the finish is proper matte. It goes on smoothly without me having to drag it across my cheeks and blends like a dream.
‘Pink sugar‘ is a cool toned pink blush, almost a barbie-pink shade but isn’t a in-your-face shade. It gives a very healthy glow on cheeks.
Regarding the staying power, it’s a long lasting blush. On my oily-combination skin, it wore for more than 8-9 hours without a primer. It had faded but the glow was still prominent. When I tested it with Revlon primer underneath, it wore better. I can’t exactly pin-point the time but I can definitely say that it looked fresh even after long hours.
Now, here’s the deal-breaker:
Sadly, the blush scores low on pigmentation. The only category to benefit from this is those with a fair-medium skin tone. For them, the application part is almost mistake-proof as it goes sheer in first swipe. This means that the color can always be build up to achieve the desired effect. I tried it on one of my friends who has a deep complexion with warm undertones and it was tiring. Plus, the shade didn’t seem to look nice on her. I wouldn’t consider it a con of this product as not all shades are meant to work for every skin tone.
The only downside for me is it doesn’t work as a lip color. The color settles badly into lip lines and makes lips appear parched.
How I apply Colorbar Pink Sugar all day lip and cheek color blush stick:
I use it directly on my cheekbones. I make 5-6 dots with it, from the temple to right under the iris. This helps in slimming down the face. Then, I quickly start patting on it and within seconds, the blush gets blended without leaving any harsh lines. The finish is clean matte.
I also applied it using a flat top round brush and it worked perfectly. The effect was more diffused. If you don’t like stained fingers, you may want to go with this method.
Make sure to moisturize your face properly since stick blush in particular has a tendency to cling to dry patches.
What if you’ve deposited too much color on your cheeks?
Do this: Spray your stippling/flat round top brush with face mist from an appropriate distance and use it to keep on blending till you’ve lightened the shade. Afterwards, dust translucent powder over it.
Summary:
Colorbar Pink sugar blush stick gives a fantastic performance as blush. It’s travel-friendly, goes on smooth and blends in a jiffy. It also lasts long on my oily skin(although the real test will be in summers). It’s one of those products which help you get ready without spending an eternity. The fact that it’s intensity can be build up according to one’s desired level makes it a winner among beginners too.
However, you might want to skip this shade if you’ve a deep complexion. The major drawback here is it doesn’t work as a lip shade. Given the price it comes at, I was hoping for a dual-purpose product as per their claims.
