Bye Bye Sephora Oil Blotting Sheets!

in Face, Face brushes on 19/03/16

Bangs stuck to forehead, skin attacked by pimples and blazing fast speed of makeup melting aptly describes summer for me. Given the fact that I have a super oily yet dry skin which gets oily within an hour of washing face in summers, this season is an ordeal for me.

At some point in my life, I used to touch-up my makeup more than 4 times a day. But that only worsened my skin problems. I had to find a solution and I found that in Sephora oil blotting sheets. The Sephora ones work great in soaking away excess oil from my face. I used like 3 of those sheets each day and touched up using powder only once by mid-day. But then price hike happened and now they cost Rs 545! Oh My God! That is too much!

Thankfully, I got to know about this launch from Oriflame i.e. Oxygen boost face blotting tissues which are super good. They originally cost Rs 199 but they are always on discount. Currently, I own 5 packs! I will buy 5 more when they are on discount next time. I fear that Oriflame might discontinue the purchase.

The sheets wipe away the oiliness from my face effectively. They aren’t powdered like the Sephora ones but hey! For the price they come at, I have no complaints! I bought them for Rs 129 and therefore I don’t dread pulling out even 3 sheets per day. Yay!

HI Heena, Have you tried using regular tissue paper to blot your face? The really soft one from like a toilet paper roll or the translucent kind of paper used to line jewellery boxes. Both work really well.

    Hi Mansi!
I have used toilet paper rolls 2-3 times when I ran out of my oil blotting sheets. But the fact that they get exposed to the toilet water particles makes me reach for them only during emergencies.
The soft ones work well but they aren't exactly travel-friendly :-s

Any idea where I can get that translucent paper?
