Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Airbrush Foundation Review and Swatches

in Face, Foundation, Makeup on 28/02/14

Today, I would be reviewing a foundation that I used not just in these winters, but also used them the previous winters! And, that did not cause any reaction on my sensitive skin even after wearing it for 10 days straight! It’s one of the best drugstore foundation I have ever tried!
What Maybelline says:
Available in a wide range of dreamy shades to suit your skin tone, DreamLiquid Mousse from Maybelline gives you prefect and flawless looking skin in just seconds. It gives great coverage with a 100% poreless airbrushed finish.
ï‚·  Ideal for normal skin
ï‚·  Oil-free, fragrance-free,  Dermatologist-tested, allergy-tested
ï‚·  Non-comedogenic – won’t clog pores, safe for sensitive skin

My experience with Maybelline foundation:
–            Maybelline foundation comes in a glass bottle and with a lockable pump dispenser. Although since it doesn’t come with a cap, the product gets accumulated around the nozzle; so make sure to wipe it every time you use it.
–            The texture is thick but blends easily into the skin with just a few pats. Beginners will love this foundation since it’s easy to work with even with fingers.
–            It provides more than medium coverage for my acne scars.
–            This foundation also covers the redness on my face very well.
–            It makes my pores look really small! Almost un-noticeable!
–            The finish is a very natural one. Not matte and not dewy, something in between!
–            It’s non-comedogenic and oil free too!
–            It does not transfer.
–            It does not oxidize (foundation getting darker or orange after some time) on me but after some 6-7 hours, my face looks a little dull. In that case, a little touch up with compact does the job.

These things said, I feel this foundation is suitable only for dry-normal skin types. Oily skinned people need to stay away from this because of its moist thick texture. Oily skinned people can experience oxidation from this foundation like I did in summers (I was just testing it.) Setting this foundation with a loose powder helps a great deal in retaining freshness on the face. The only reason I think I won’t be using this foundation in winters is because I need to mix both of these shades to get my shade, which gets tiring at times! So, if you have dry-normal skin type and can find your shade, do give this foundation a try since the finish is to die for!
Price: Rs.600
Quantity: 30ml
VCB Rating: 4.5/5

Now, when summers are approaching, do you have any favourite foundation for your super oily skin (if you have)? If yes, please do let me know in your comments below 🙂

Hated that Maybelline had numbers and not names for these.. but the formula is fab!! 😀 😀

I have this foundation and I loved it in winter. I love Bourjois HM for summer. I have recently found my HG which is Kryolan Dermacolor Camouflage cream. Nothing beats it!! And the price… cheapest at 350 INR!!

My fav is Max Factor Ageless Elixir for summer. Although its creamy, it doesnt make me oily. It provides medium coverage though

such a well written detailed review!! loved it! I wanted to try this foundation esp for the mousse texture but I guess this won't do much good for my oily/combination skin 🙁

I have heard tons about this one though never given it a try…I might try it after the summers though..Lovely review dear!
For the summers I am shifting to Powders…No cream or liquid foundations in this humid weather of Mumbai…
