When it comes to luxurious packaging, L’oreal sure knows how to win hearts. The packaging of this BB Cream won my heart at the first sight. But what broke my heart was when I read these words on the BB Cream> “Hyaluronic Moisture Aqua”! I thought to myself that I have super oily skin and this will be a waste for me. But then I thought I get dry skin in winters. And, till winters, this BB Cream will get more expensive and so, why not buy it now!
That also means that not only do I get to review a new launch for my readers but also make an investment for the future. You see killing two birds with one stone.
Coming to this BB Cream,
– L’oreal true Match BB Cream comes in a beautiful gold packaging as you can see.
– It has SPF35 with PA+++ , which is a very good protection level. “PA” ranking refers to the amount of protection the sunscreen offers from the UVA rays which may cause long-term skin damage. The more +’s, the more is the protection level.
– The texture is light but creamy! It’s a put off for oily skinned people since even after applying compact; they will need to touch up very soon. On the other hand, dry skinned people are going to love this since it hydrates and moisturizes the skin very well. I think this will also work for combination skinned people with a few touch-ups in a day.
– It gets easily absorbed on tapping onto the skin and actually brightens the skin. The brightening effect remains on the skin for quite a few hours.
– The finish is soft dewy look.
– It gives a medium coverage and hides the pimples/acne scars/medium dark circles to a good extent.
– It evens out the skin tone very well.
– It doesn’t transfers at all.
– It does have a tendency of settling a little into the under eye lines, so take care of that aspect. I mostly like to use a brush there for concealing.
– The shade selection is bad. Plus, the shade which I have, I haven’t seen it online.
Shade Selection:
I have chosen the shade “G2 Gold BB” because I think it was the only shade that had yellow undertones. There are three shades in total. The other two shades had a quite a lot of pink undertones and looked white, so I skipped those. This shade does have yellow undertones but not so much to pull down my Asian skin. Again, the shade selection is very bad.
About their claim “Yellow skin tone instantly appears to be neutralized”:
Now, Indian skin tones naturally have a lot of melanin. Even the lightest Indian skin tones can suffer from a lot of yellow undertones. Choosing a foundation with too much of pink undertones is not a good idea as the result is going to be ashy. A lilac shade corrector is used to neutralize too much of yellow undertones.
Honestly, I does see this shade to somewhat neutralize the yellow undertones on my skin. I think it’s mainly because of the warm yellow tint present in the shade.
But I wonder how the other two shades will be able to neutralize the yellow skin tone.
In short,
L’oreal Paris BB Cream would be loved by the dry skinned people because of its moisturizing abilities and may also work for combination skinned people with a few touch ups. This clearly isn’t for oily skinned people and may also be heavy for hot and humid climates.
Although this BB Cream doesn’t comes with a whitening tag, but the three shades offered by them indirectly tell their catering needs. Please correct me if you feel I’m missing out on something.

This looks really good. I like your detailed review and the shade you have chosen is good, I prefer anything with yellow undertones. Pink always makes the skin look grey. It's related to my blog. coralcrue@gmail.com I'm not able to find your email id in here.thanks 🙂
