My Makeup Tricks For Small Eyes

in Makeup, Others, Tips and Tricks on 09/04/14

Hey everyone!
Today, I wanted to give my two cents regarding some tips on how I do eye makeup for my small eyes. Hope you find my Makeup tricks for small eyes useful:

A winged eyeliner gives the illusion of a longer upper lid. Make sure to not make it so thick that it covers your entire eyelids, which will make your small eyes appear smaller.

I forgot to add in here ^ that tighlining also helps a great deal. But I hardly do it because the liner always starts to transfer on my waterline. So, I don’t do it unless I’m doing a smokey eye wherein I have applied a black kohl on my waterline. Do you also face this transfer problem? Any solution would be highly appreciated! ^_^

I love colored eyeliners. They not just help in making small eyes look bigger but also for instantly changing a look without putting in much efforts. One of the easiest Makeup tricks for small eyes to look bigger.

This a very helpful technique to define eyes. I take a matte brown eyeshadow on a fluffy brush and blend it from the middle of the eyelids to outward direction. If you want a lift in your eyes, don’t follow the socket line like I do. Just blend the eyeshadow from middle to straight upwards.

I don’t resort to this trick everyday because of my weak eyelashes but when I do, I notice a huge difference. I like using smudgeproof mascara the most because of my oily skin.

I wear smudged eyes using eyeliner a lot in winters. Smudged eyes do have a tendency to make small eyes appear smaller but here’s what I do to avoid that. I don’t smudge liner all the way to the inner corners. Plus I smudge the liner from the outer corners in an almost straight direction. I also tighline my upper waterline here. Check out my post on how to do easy smokey eyes using just eyeliner. It will take a few practice sessions but it is easy.

So, what are your tricks for makeup for small eyes? Please do share! 🙂

what a nice post dear!! very helpful!! I think making a thicker outer V and a very thin inner liner will really help in elongating the eyes!! 😀

Heena, I cannot help admiring not only the tricks you mentioned, but the fact, you put in so much of hard work doing each of them and shooting. I really can not but help appreciating that.
Well, I have embraced the fact that I have small eyes. Nude liners look stark on my waterline, even the flesh tones ones are not of much help for me. What I do is , even while simply lining the eyes, I put on a bit more of color to the outer half of the lower lash line and blend/draw it well to make it look natural. Also, I do that kitten flick ( I am so used to doing that, that it comes to me naturally now. 😛 )

Plus, these days, it does not bother me much that I have small eyes. I do whatever makes me look good. 😛
