So when I posted about these ethnic outfits on my social media channels, I surprisingly got a lot of e-mails asking me for their details. While chatting along with a few, I told them that how lucky I was finding myself after seeing this suit within my price budget. I got it for Rs.15,000 and it was the first ethnic piece I saw after searching through many shops for which I actually stretched my budget and even felt like paying.
However given the fact that I have only weekends to spare and not an eternity to hunt down for such pieces when family functions arrive, I think I am going for getting them stitched next time. I did some research on how to do all this and not end up with regret.
Many of you would have got caught in such a situation where you feel all your efforts to make a style statement at the party have gone to waste. One reason for this is the mass production, churning out hundreds of kurtis or dresses or salwar kameezes from unending bales of fabric. I saw many similar looking outfits with various price range.
If you want to wear something unique get hold of an expert tailor, buy dress material online or from the shops. You’ll be able to don an ensemble that gives you the best fit because it would have been tailored for you. You can also mix and match to create attractive outfits.
While there is a wide range of Indian women clothing available online on stores like Rediff.com, consider the following benefits of buying dress material over readymade dresses.
Size Matters
Getting the right size is a problem for many women. If the bust fits, the dress would not fit well at the waist or vice versa. Those who are small framed will have issues with the broad necklines that keep falling off their shoulders.
When you buy dress material, your measurements are taken precisely, and you can be sure that your clothes will fit you perfectly.
Matches Your Taste
While tailoring the dress material, you have the freedom to choose the neck pattern, type of sleeves, quality of embellishments used and so forth. You can also choose a long or short kurta/kameez that suits your stature. Whether you wear your kameez with a tight churidar, or a loose patiala, or dhoti pants- all of it can be decided beforehand. Last but not the least, you have the freedom to choose the design on whatever type of dress material fabrics.

Mixing And Matching
When you buy dress material you can choose different colour combinations and come up with something quite out of the ordinary. This sort of a mix and match is not possible with a ready-made dress where you need to take the combination that is offered by the seller.
Fits Your Pocket
Buying a dress material and designing it anyway works cheaper than the ready-made ones. If you like a brocade anarkali salwar kameez with all motif and embellishments, it will cost you quite a lot of money. On the other hand, buying the material and the embellishments separately and then stitching them will definitely save you a lot of money. My sister also did the same.
Have you ever got ethnic dresses stitched? How has your experience been?

After all the hullabulla I went through during shopping for outfits, I felt the same…that I should buy material and get it stitched from a good tailor. It's gonna fit better too and won't be that much hassle. Now the search for good dress material begins. I love the one you are wearing here. I had seen it on your instagram!
