Kiko Milano Gossamer Creamy Lipsticks: Review, Swatches

Kiko Milano gossamer creamy lipsticks review, swatches

When I used these lipsticks at the store, I was reminded a lot of the Chanel velvet matte lipsticks I own. Not texture wise but packaging wise. I got four shades in these and will be reviewing three today.

I have reviewed the last shade i.e. 125, Cylamen HERE.

Product description:

Creamy lipstick in bold colours with a shiny finish. The formula contains orchid extracts and hyaluronic filling spheres. The smooth, supple texture combined with the intense, bright colours create a sensuous smile. The lipstick glides on easily, leaving the lips silky soft. Gossamer Emotion Creamy Lipstick comes in a new, modern tube with a metallic finish. This lipstick’s distinguishing characteristic is the unique button at the top of the cap. Available in 30 rich, shiny and metallic colours.

My experience with Kiko Milano gossamer creamy lipsticks:

The packaging is beautiful and classy. Kiko Milano gossamer creamy lipsticks comes in a black case with the usual details on them. The actual lipsticks have a steel grey glossy body. You’re supposed to press the golden button on the top of the cap to reveal the neck of the lipstick. Always ensure while closing that you do hear the tick voice which means the lipstick won’t come off accidentally.

Texture wise, they reminded me a lot of Colourpop lux lipsticks. Just like them, these ones are low-maintenance too. They are creamy, glide smoothly on lips without any pull and set to a creamy finish. I always like to blot twice and re-apply to tone down the shine. Just a personal preference. They have a light vanilla scent. They do not cling to any dry bits on lips or emphasize lip lines. I find them pretty forgiving even when worn on non-prepped lips.

The staying power is different for different shades here. Shade 107 which is a beautiful, everyday pinky brown stays for 3 hours. If you have a drink or have snacks, it will fade off from the middle and you will have to make way for a touch-up. When the fading isn’t considerable, what I do is just  press my lips together to coat my lips with even colour.

113, Pearly Tulip Red– Looks more cool-toned red in person on my NC30 skin tone.

105, Pinkish Brown– This is a pinkish brown which I think should work well for light-medium skin tones.

107, Mocaccino– This comes off as a muted brownish pink on my sister who has a warm undertone but looks dark on me. I bought it to wear it underneath my nude lipsticks.

I don’t like the shade 107 worn alone but it comes off as a pretty muted brown lipstick on my sister who has a medium skin tone. It doesn’t transfer easily and even with light snacks in between, I could afford to go on without any touch-up. After lunch, I did apply it fresh though.

The red shade lasts the longest here! The fading depends on what you eat and drink but it wears off evenly. Also, it stains the lips. It does off come easily with an oil-based remover though. This shade also smudges minimally. So, I wore it with a lip liner next time to see if it still did on my greasy skin but it didn’t. Also, it does have a tendency to settle into lip lines after some hours.

If you have dry lips and looking for a lipstick with a comfortable satin-matte finish, I suggest you try Kiko Milano gossamer creamy lipsticks. They aren’t hydrating but given the finish, they don’t also feel drying. Also, you can see, the coverage is full.

Summary:

Kiko Milano gossamer creamy lipsticks apply well without emphasizing any dry bits on lips. They offer a complete coverage and easily last for 3-7 hours, depending upon the shade. The finish is satin matte. None of the lipsticks feel heavy and they have a gorgeous packaging. I say, buy one at least!
