L.A. Colors truly matte foundation: Review, Swatches on Indian skin tone

There was a lot of hype around L.A. Colors truly matte foundation for it being very high in coverage. Naturally, I was intrigued. After spending a considerable amount of time in selecting my shade from the swatches HERE (along with watching Shinchan on mute), I ordered one for myself. I was super confused between two shades but finally zeroed in on one. Did the shade turn out to be perfect for my skin tone?

My experience with L.A. Colors truly matte foundation:
If you’re a dusky beauty and have a tough time finding your ideal shade in drugstore foundations available in India, do check out this range. It can be difficult to guess your ideal shade online but it might be worth the risk. The shade range in this foundation is a lot better in comparison and hopefully, you should find yours without breaking your bank.
L.A. Colors truly matte foundation comes in a plastic packaging with a pump to make it easy to dispense the product. What I don’t like is how it smells- very plastic like. The foundation has a liquid consistency although a bit thick than the usual liquid foundations. Properly moisturized skin is a must when wearing it as it offers a flat matte finish. It does blend in easily but I make sure to work with it in sections as it dries fast.
As for the coverage, it’s does a good job at concealing my light marks acne but I did have to go over with 2-3 layers to get the desired coverage. It’s not an extremely pigmented foundation though.

I have used it with and without a silicon primer on my skin and it looks good either way on my skin. It does have a tendency to settle into crease lines after some hours but nothing dramatic.
But when it comes to staying power, L.A. Colours truly matte foundation is nothing amazing. I start seeing the shine on my skin just after two hours and it’s a lot. With some foundations, the shine starts to peek through early but I don’t feel the oiliness on my skin. With this one, I do. After the three hour mark, it gets necessary for me to use an oil blotting sheet. It cannot withstand heat and humidity.
However, it wears for a longer period of time and much well if you’re in an air-conditioned environment all the time (set with powder, of course). So, if you’re looking at it with the purpose of office-wear, it’s a good option. Do remember to keep a pack of oil blotting tissues in your purse though. It will a good idea to blot every 2-3 hours, depending upon your situation. Make sure that you aren’t doing the same makeup mistake that was worsening my acne.
Did it cause break outs on my skin?
Nope.
I have the shade “Golden Biege”. It doesn’t look out of the place after I’m done with my full makeup. However, it’s too yellow for my skin tone. I wish the undertone was subtle. For reference, I’m NC30.
