Best liquid eyeliners in India- Affordable and waterproof
When I first started using eyeliners, almost every article on net told me as to how beginners should rely on pencil eyeliners as they’re the easiest to use. I do agree with that to a certain extent but not fully. Even as a beginner, I liked using liquid eyeliners more than the pencil/gel based ones as they helped me get a neat finish which I otherwise struggled with. I also found it difficult to fill in the gaps on my lash line using a pencil one. What did I learn from this? It’s important to experiment with different products to form your own opinion and not follow any advice blindly.
I have experimented with quite a few eyeliners from then and therefore, decided to make a comparison post on some black liquid eyeliners I own. Hope you find this post on ‘best liquid eyeliners in India‘ helpful.
Maybelline hyper glossy liquid eyeliner
Maybelline hyper glossy liquid eyeliner was my first love. I started using it 4 years back and have lost the count of the number of bottles I have emptied. It was the only good-performing eyeliner 3-4 years back at the price tag of Rs.299. It doesn’t have the most light-weight texture but it does the job well. It’s very black, dries quickly and leaves a glossy finish behind. Since the handle of the brush isn’t long, it’s easy to hold. The thin bristles help in drawing skinny as well as thick lines.
On my super oily eyelids, it stays for long hours with just some peeling from my watery eye corners. Unless you rub your eyes vigorously or consistently, this one isn’t going to flake. It’s the best liquid eyeliner for beginners in the affordable range.
L’oreal Magique liquid eyeliner
If you’re new to the world of liquid eyeliners and want to get started with an affordable and good-quality one, say hello to L’oreal magique liquid eyeliner! It has a sponge-tip applicator which gives a better control. It’s the best affordable black felt-tip eyeliner in India. I just wish it didn’t make the “waterproof” claim as it’s not.
When it comes to staying power, this liner is almost the same as the Maybelline one. Just that, it’s a bit darker.

Colorbar precision waterproof eyeliner
I haven’t reviewed this on blog. I bought Colorbar precision waterproof eyeliner some months back and have been using it in breaks.
Unlike the Maybelline and L’oreal one, this one dries to a matte black finish. I am not a fan of the sponge tip as it’s not as flexible it should be. It has a much better staying power when compared to both. It’s mildly waterproof, like if you have it on your eyes, splash water on them and rub gently, it will not come out.
But it’s not completely waterproof. It’s the best matte liquid eyeliner in India in the affordable range.
Sugar smudgeproof liquid eyeliner
This is one of those products which I bought after giving in to the hype. It has a very fine sponge tip applicator perfect for drawing both thick and thin lines. It goes on smoothly. Make sure you give the first layer 15-20 seconds to dry before going over with another one otherwise the formula can separate.
My only gripe with it is that it isn’t smudge proof- the primary reason for why I bought it. I don’t find its lasting power much different from the affordable ones listed here. As compared to the Colorbar one, it’s more black and has a thin sponge tip.
Stila waterproof liquid eyeliner
This! This one is DA.BOMB! It’s the best waterproof liquid eyeliner I’ve ever tried. I purchased it just 2 months back and have been getting a lot of use out of it.
Stila waterproof liquid eyeliner costs a bomb but it’s worth the price. It has a thin felt tip which I wish smaller to ease the application process. That said, I love everything else about it. The ink flows out effortlessly every single time, goes on evenly and deposits a rich black color on my eyelids. It applies without any trouble even on eyeshadows.
It’s the most long-staying liquid eyeliner I own. How often do you come across eyeliners that stay put in this hot weather even after 10-12 hours? This one does! Since it behaves so well, a little more than extra effort is required to remove it- nothing major though. It’s definitely one of the Best liquid eyeliners in India.
If you don’t want to spend this much on an eyeliner and still want a good staying power, I suggest you to try this eyeliner hack for oily eyelids.

L’oreal one is a good option.

I can’t apply liquid eye liner.
Very nice post for eyeliner 👍👍👍

If you want to begin with it, L’oreal one is a good option.
Otherwise, pencil eyeliners are always there.
Thankoo Manisha 🙂

I’ve been using Maybelline the colossal liner and it works great but my oily lids couldn’t keep it for longer…
Heena says
You’re right. I tried it at the store on my arm and it came off too easily.
Even hyper glossy performs better than it.
