Do I like this rose gold makeup brush set?

I showed this  rose gold makeup brush set some days back. At that time, I was still testing them. I have used these brushes for more than 2 months now and ready to share my feelings about them. Here are my thoughts on this rose gold makeup brush set which I bought from Amazon India:

Let’s start with the packaging which tempted me to buy this brush set. If you have an eye for detail, you will find that there are light scratches on some of the brushes in this set. I chose to ignore that for the price it came at and have to say these are soooo beautiful! It’s not just the rose gold packaging but look at the color of the bristles- pink and white!

None of the bristles have shed over the last 2 months which is very surprising. That said, the bristles do get dirty easily. Also, two of the brushes already have started showing signs of scattered bristles. Thankfully, the situation hasn’t gone bad. The handles are light-weight and don’t feel the best. I do wish that the length of the handles was small in size as it’s easier doing makeup that way on yourself. None of them are scratchy.

This rose gold makeup brush set contains a large powder brush, medium-sized blush brush, eyeshadow blending brushes, crease brush, liner brush, spoolie brush, contour brush, angled face brush, smudger brushes, concealer brush, eyebrow brush, foundation brush and shadow brush.

The small buffing brush is ideal to get coverage for small areas but since it’s not very dense, I have to apply more pressure than I usually do. The small shader brush isn’t stiff and ideal to apply eyeshadow on my small eyelids. The blending brush is again the perfect size for my eyes and diffuses the color in the crease. The large powder brush is fluffy and helps set powder. The concealer brush works very well in getting a smooth finish with the same. Just make sure to blend quickly using it as it’s not quite dense. You can use the slanted angled brush to fill in your eyebrows or draw a thin line of eyeliner using an eyeshadow on your lower lash line. The contouring brush has uneven bristles but it works.

One thing which stands true for all these brushes is that they aren’t that good at picking pigments in one go. When it comes to applying products like blushers, highlighters and foundations, I find that to be a good thing as application can be controlled and intensity can be built up in layers. But when it comes to applying eyeshadows, I find myself going over multiple times to increase the intensity even with the high-quality ones. This is the major difference I find between affordable and expensive makeup brushes. Indirectly, this means more time spent at application.

If you’re always pressed for time, do a full face makeup for everyday and relying solely on these brushes to do the job for you, you might want to skip them. If you are heavy handed at application part, try affordable ones first.

Do I like this cheap rose gold makeup brush set? Absolutely! It’s a treat to look at and that’s the very reason I purchased it.
