Distant Cousin Of The New Lakme Satin Enrich Lipsticks?

I’m discovering more and more good things by accident. While browsing cosmetics online randomly, I came across this brand. I had a look at the ingredients list and decided to order one. Today, I’ll be reviewing Organistick lipstick 13.

Product description:

You no longer need to worry about presence of any animal fat or toxic ingredients as Organistick is the most natural lipstick you can ever get! The long lasting effect of color shade and moistness provided by this organic lip color empowers your lips to retain their attractive prowess even at the end of a day. Get spoilt for choice with a variety of lipstick shades available to suit all types of skin tones.

My experience with Organistick lipstick 13:

Packaging: The lipstick comes in a black cardboard box which contains information like ingredients list, product description, company details and expiry date. The actual lipstick has a plastic packaging with flowers drawn on the bottom. The brand name is also mentioned on it. Since it has a transparent cap, you can easily distinguish the color in case you own more than one.

Texture: It has a moderately creamy texture and glides smoothly on lips without any extra force. Initially, it feels hydrating but after an hour has gone by, it feels dry. I wear a balm underneath and I’m sorted. It’s a lil disappointing to see the oils revealed in the ingredients list not working.

Finish: It has a satin finish i.e. a cross of cream and matte. It’s neither flat nor glossy. You can even wear it blotted for a matte finish.

It’s more purple in person.

Scent: Light and nothing bothersome.

Pigmentation: It doesn’t have a serious color payoff for those with pigmented lips. But on my non-pigmented lips, it gives a full coverage.

Staying power: If you give it a good 30 minutes to settle down i.e. don’t eat or drink till that time, it wears really well. Yes, it does transfer but there’s still a lot of color left. When I had a proper meal with it on, I didn’t had to do an immediate touch-up. That’s because it stains lips. So, even if the lip color has worn out from the inside forming a ring formation, it isn’t very visible. The stain can be removed easily using a cleansing oil/vaseline.

Word of caution: Since it bleeds a little, I apply a *ude lip liner under it.

Here comes the main part: Is Organistick lipstick completely organic?

I visited Organistick website to have a look at the ingredients list. While they have provided an elaborate information on ingredients like shea butter, jojoba oil, beeswax, castor oil, carnauba wax and FD&C colors, I didn’t find anything on ‘Titanium dioxides’. So, I visited organic makeup site to read about it (the truth is I visited more than 10 sites telling me about the harmful ingredients present in lipsticks and upsetting me. But I guess I’ll be alright after I have my lunch..hmph!) and the summary is:

“Titanium dioxide is listed as a safe pigment, with no known adverse effects when used in cosmetics, and approved by the FDA when 99% pure.”

In a nutshell, it seems like a safe lip color.

Summary:

Since I don’t have the knowledge database of FDA, I can’t decide whether it’s completely organic or not. But looking at the ingredients list, I can definitely say that it’s a lot less harmful than the other brands out there. The formula is smooth and it stays for long. It’s definitely a steal for what it’s priced at and the number of shades it comes in.

And..

From the packaging to the formula to how well it stays, it reminds me so much of the new Lakme satin enrich lipsticks. In fact, I find the texture of this one to be better. Also, it’s not loaded with chemicals and priced lower.

^ Read this line on a site today and it’s going to do rounds in my mind for a few days. It’s not like I never realized it but this time, it’s different.. As usual, I’ll over-think and add more shades of Organistick lipstick in my shopping cart. I’ll look at the lipsticks I own and throw them a suspicious look. I may even start to imagine some worst possible scenarios in my head and eat cake all day long. Then, one day, I’ll hear about some new lipsticks launching and everything will be alright.

*Heads over to Amazon to buy them*
