I have gone through two bottles of this serum, which means my review is based on at least 4 months of its usage.
L’oreal youth code luminize serum comes housed in a light weighted glass bottle with a pump. The pump works fine and I don’t have to apply extra pressure to dispense the product out of it. It also comes with a lock mechanism, so you can travel easily with it. All the details regarding the product are mentioned on the box in which it comes. Since it’s a glass bottle, ensure you don’t have butterfingers lest you drop it. I just wish it was a transparent bottle so I could see how much product is left.
The serum is a pearly white liquid which is quite thin and watery in consistency. It has a light refreshing fragrance. It gets absorbed into the skin easily, without leaving any stickiness behind. It not just leaves dry skin feeling hydrated but also gives a certain glow on face. I’m guessing it’s due to the pearly white particles. I have used this serum in all seasons of my skin cycle i.e. oily, combination and dry phase. While I found it heavy for my oily skin, it’s apt for my combination skin. When I have drier skin, I need to use another product for added moisture.Â
I used this two times a day i.e. morning and night. It lasted me for 2-2.5 months, which is quite good. Now, the question whether does it really brightens the skin?
Yes! It does! After a week only of using it, my skin felt smoother and looked radiant. After a month of using it, I realized it had actually made my acne marks lighter. I was super happy with its performance. You know, how most products say blah blah about making your skin glow and lightening your marks, but don’t. This one actually did! One more thing, I bought this product after I saw the changes in my mom’s skin who used this religiously for 2 months. Her skin had got a lot more even, glowing and brown spots on her skin had considerably faded.
Now, the sad part is that once you stop using it, the results start to slowly fade. In fact, this is the case with most of the brightening products. So, it’s always a good idea to include a brightening product in your skincare routine to overcome dullness. In my case, I also have to keep alternating with products since they stop showing the same effect on my skin if I use them continuously for more than 2-3 months.
*See how it absorbs so well?*
In short, I loved this serum! I have used 4-5 other serums till date but liked this one the most. It not just brightens the skin but also improves the uneven skin tone and lightens marks. Except for oily skin, I see myself giving its’ name to anyone who has a dull skin problem.Â
