If you are not able to buy any new outfit for your New Year party, do not despise! Take that old plain outfit of yours and turn yourself into a diva by teaming it with attractive jewellery!
I’m sure by now you must know that I’m a big jewellery lover! I love the fact that when the right jewellery is worn with the right outfit, it can make such a tremendous impact to a simple outfit!
I wanted to do a different post and with two hours in my hands, I managed to do this post. I wish I could show the entire outfit, like before and after; but I could only manage this in two hours. And, please excuse the unclear pictures since I clicked them at night.
There are no rules to wearing jewellery but I did include some pointers:
– If you are wearing a bib/statement necklace, make it the focus of your wardrobe. Wear small earrings/studs and minimal jewellery on hands too. Try wearing plain outfit with it and avoid prints unless they are really subtle and not clashing with the necklace. This is because statement necklace are all about making a statement.
– Make sure the neckline is simple when wearing a bib necklace.
– Avoid wearing statement necklace and big earrings at same time. It would look too much since they are in such a close proximity. However, I love wearing lots of bracelets and rings at the same time but then I make sure to keep my neckline and outfit simple. I don’t want to look like a Christmas tree except for when I dress up like that at home 😛
– Wear layered chain necklaces. They look really lovely but don’t layer all the heavy necklaces at the same time.
– If you are wearing a plain neutral outfit, you can go for neon based neckpieces or if you are wearing plain neon outfit, go for neutral shade neckpieces.
– When wearing a statement ring, make sure your hands are well groomed and nails painted nicely (I know I haven’t but I said I just had two hours).
– When wearing bangles, make sure the number of the stack of the bangles does not exceed 6-7, otherwise it can look too much. Also, the bangles stack looks better only on one hand.
– One important aspect I feel is that when wearing a lot of jewellery (not saying decked like a Christmas tree), make-up should look subtle. Especially when wearing statement necklaces, I think eye make-up should be particularly simple. Cat eyeliner would do.
I almost every day dance only to songs from my pendrive but I don’t know what made me change the mode today and switch onto FM and newsflash> “Flat 50% off on Kazo on 28th and 29th Decemeber Only!!” And, I can’t go tomorrow! Waaaaaaaaaaaaa :-(( But you girls go and lootify them!
