Colorbar Radiant White UV Fairness Compact Powder Review and Swatch

in Face, Makeup, Powder on 26/06/13

Yesterday I was strolling in the beauty section of a mall and after seeing a ton of products; I realized that there are just tons of products with whitening tag. In fact, there were hardly any products that didn’t carry the whiteness or fairness tag. Phew!
Coming to this compact:
–        The colorbar radiant white UV compact comes with a mirror attached and a puff without any name.
–        The puff is quite thin and so provides a light coverage. Had the puff been a little thick, it would have provided light-medium coverage.
–        The powder has actually very micro silver shimmers. I saw them after bringing this compact home and surprisingly, it didn’t make my pores look big or my oily skin look like a disco ball.
–        I have fair skin and I choose the shade “004” since it has some yellow undertones to it. The other shades had a lot of pink undertones. Also this shade is one tone lighter than my face tone, but its fine since in summers, I always buy one shade lighter face makeup. It’s because after some time, due to my very oily skin, the oil in my skin turns the foundation/powder darker.
–         It does brighten my face very nicely. I really like the subtle glow.
–        It’s very light-weight. It doesn’t give a heavy feeling on face in summers.
–        It provides a matte finish. And, the texture is a little dry.
–        In terms of oil control, I checked my face after some 4-5 hours and my skin was a little oily. I just blotted and I was fine. The compact didn’t get transferred to the oil blotting sheets. But then, I was also in air-conditioned environment all the time. I feel this isn’t being to be so good under the direct sun for my super oily skin. I’ll update  if I get the chance to be in scorching sun, wearing this; which isn’t going to happen soon with my internship timings.
–        It’s affordable.
–        It hasn’t caused any pimples or small bumps on my sensitive and acne prone skin.
One Pointer:
–        I use a thick puff with this, so that I get a medium coverage for my blemished skin.

Price: Rs.250
