I’m saying it again and will keep on saying forever (I hope) that I love Pharmaceuticals visits! I get to know about so many other good products which aren’t advertised and are lying in a neat shelf. One of them is this Dermocalm lotion for dry, irritated skin which I will review today.

Calamine is a mixture of zinc oxide (ZnO) with about 0.5% iron(III) oxide (Fe2O3). It is the main ingredient in calamine lotion and is used as an antipruritic (anti-itching agent) to treat mild pruritic conditions such as sunburn, eczema, rashes, poison ivy, chickenpox, insect bites and stings. Dermocalm lotion for dry, irritated skin is also used as a mild antiseptic to prevent infections that can be caused by scratching the affected area, and an astringent to dry weeping or oozing blisters and acne abscesses. Soothing relief for dry,itchy skin.

Dermocalm lotion for dry, irritated skin is also from one of my those visits. When I saw the words for ‘Dry, Irritated skin’, I bought it at that very time since I was suffering from dry and a little flaky skin at that time on my inner cheeks. It has a light peachy pink tint to it, like Lacto calamine but this one gives your skin a glow and the effect is also very natural. It doesn’t provide any coverage for blemishes.
I used it every night and morning for a week and could see that it had reduced the dryness over that area. After using it for almost a month, I was surprised to see improvement in my skin texture. There was no flakiness on my inner cheeks and my skin felt smooth. Plus, my acne prone skin had no pimples. Yay!
But I stopped using it after a few days as my skin had returned to its oily state and it felt a bit greasy.
Also, it contains ‘Glycerin’ which is a humectant. Humectants help in drawing moisture from the air to hydrate the skin. They are particularly helpful for dehydrated skin. Definitely one of the best moisturizer creams in India at this price point.
In short, Dermocalm lotion for dry, irritated skin is :
– Inexpensive.
– Good quantity.
– Hygienic packaging.
– Gives skin a glow because of the peachy pink tint.
– Works nicely as a tinted moisturizer on combination/dry skin.
– Has never caused any breakouts on my acne skin. But it also contains parabens which might be a problem for some.
